Stained Glass

Marilyn’s Stained Glass

Stained Glass
Cape Breton

This panel is based on photographs we took while vacationing on Cape Breton Island. Thanks to Maine Art Glass Studio
for creating the custom pattern for this project.

lighthouseNight Lighthouse
This is one of the first projects I completed on my own, after completing an adult education stained glass class.  Daytime sky on top; night sky on bottom.

I made this pair of garden ornaments as a housewarming gift.

The picture immediately above is our front door in Winthrop; good thing the people who bought the house left the panels there!  After installing the panels I couldn’t get the light right for the photograph, so above the six shot is  a more accurate representation of what each panel looks like.

Window CatsWindow Cats 2
This is an original pattern I created because I wanted to make some stained glass cats.  I still haven’t seen a pattern of a cat’s face that I like.  Cats in silhouette are more mysterious, anyway.  Next time I’ll make the reclining cat black and the sitting cat white, because the window structure shouldn’t show through the cat’s body.

quilt squaresquilt square
In 2005 I took a quilting class.   I made the quilt squares in the top photo for the women in the class, based on the colors they were using for their quilts.  The square on the bottom I made in 2007.  It is larger than the first set of squares.

Katy's panel

I made this panel as a Christmas gift for my nephew’s
wife Katie.  I was pleased with the way the brown border
glass looks solid from a distance but looks like woodgrain
when the light is right (see the bottom border).

Here are a few other suncatchers I’ve done recently.
